Recommended only where overheating is a known to be a problem, they increase the chance of debris getting caught in the water intake. Replaces the 8 hole insert on the Mercury / Mariner 2.0L, 2.4L, 2.5L and 3.0L outboards with 4 3/4" gearcases except the 225/250 (3.0L, 1994 1996).
Designed to replace standard water pickup inserts, providing additional ram pressure that forces more water into the cooling system.
